The Filter’Tron pickups on this beautiful guitar provide a sound that works beautifully with clean or slightly overdriven sounds. The pickups definitely lean heavily in the vintage tonal spectrum. These low-output humbuckers are brighter than a traditional PAF pickup and a bit more focused sounding as well. The tone is closer to that of a single-coil pickup than any modern humbucker, for sure, with it’s open and uncompressed sound with lots of top end bite.
The neck definitely gives you a solid piece of wood to hold onto with it’s U-shaped neck. It’s still super fast to navigate and playing up and down the neck is a breeze. It tapers really nicely so that, whether you’re playing chords down in the first or open position or ripping lead lines up high on the neck, your left hand won’t get fatigued even through long nights in the studio, ripping it up on the big stage, or jamming with your buddies.

For full-throttle Nashville class, the double-cutaway G6620TFM Players Edition Nashville® Center Block Double-Cut with String-Thru Bigsby and Flame Maple nails it with the time-honored Gretsch model’s classic style. That would include a beautiful tiger flame maple top, body and headstock finished in orange stain, with a chambered spruce center block that enhances body resonance for more organic tone and comfortably lighter weight.
Built to perform, its elegant features also include gold hardware, an ebony fingerboard and the classic Gretsch horseshoe headstock inlay. For the sonic muscle and finesse, two High-Sensitive Filter’Tron pickups deliver authentic Gretsch power and articulation.
